It seems that, after every atrocity, every mass shooting, every instance of police brutality, every time the big-over-militarized side beats up on or kills those on the other side (yes, USA cops are very much like Israel and USA minorities are very much like Palestinians), we hear from those who deny that THIS time it’s part of the pattern because of, well, DETAILS.
Sorry, apologists for the oppressors, but everything has details. That does not mean it fails to fit the pattern.
As the framers of the Declaration of Independence put it, ” a long train of abuses” have been heaped upon people who happen to be going about their lives (mass shooting victims AND minorities) without harming anyone. The presumption of innocence has been thrown in the dung heap.
The pattern is clear: Some People (gun owners — as long as they’re not minority; Israelis; police) are above the rules that the rest of us need to live by. Other people (gun violence victims, including children, women and non-combatant civilians; minorities; Palestinians) don’t count much, certainly less than even the property of Some People.
Injustice Must End! If you want peace, work for justice, as there is no peace without justice.
