A Selfish and Greedy Nation

Back in November of 2014, I posted a piece on this blog about how libertarianism has helped lead America to fascism. (See it here: https://timgatewood.wordpress.com/2014/11/29/libertarianism-leads-to-fascism/  )

Even when I posted it, I realized that the piece was less than explicit on some of the connections between a philosophy of individualism and a dysfunctional society. So, it pleased me greatly to come across this recent article that spells out in more detail how the philosophy of Ayn Rand, which has had such a huge impact on the modern version of libertarianism, has helped make America a selfish and greedy nation.

See the article here: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/12/clinical-psychologist-explains-how-ayn-rand-helped-turn-the-us-into-a-selfish-and-greedy-nation/#.VSeE4iypkv8.facebook

It is a small step from a selfish and greedy nation to a fascist one, and the 1% have been pushing America toward that step for quite a while now.

Unless enough of We the People wake up to the true situation and effectively demand that OUR government represent us instead of the 1%, the future of America will be a fascist one in fact and deed, no matter what it’s called.
