Are You Pro-Life?

If you support the death penalty, you’re not pro-life.

If you support letting children go hungry or suffer homelessness because their parents are poor or ill-prepared to be good parents, you’re not pro-life.

If you refuse to help someone because of who they love or who their parent loves, you’re not pro-life.

If you’re willing to attack women going into a clinic or doctors or nurses who provide health care options that you think are wrong, you’re not pro-life.

If the only time you care about someone’s baby is while it is in them, you’re not pro-life.

Let’s be clear about this. These are not pro-life positions. They may be pro-birth, but life is about far more than just being born.

As far as I’m concerned, only those with lady parts should be deciding what happens in or with them. In other words, if you are not a woman, just keep your opinions about what women should do with their sexuality to yourself.

So, please don’t come around me spouting off about “the pro-life position” if all you’re talking about is opposition to abortion. Life neither begins nor ends at birth.
