When you make profit the only or the top value, all others suffer.
Human decency, respect for life, protection of the young and the old, honor and character, the middle class, quality of goods and services, privacy, freedom to live, and so many more values get thrown on the trash pile when almighty profit is the top value.
I don’t know if capitalism can be reformed into something more closely resembling the free market that Americans believe in. I DO know that what we have now is NOT free.
It is a corporate state in which politics is about which billionaires have the upper hand. It is corporate socialism, where We the People have to bail out their mistakes and they get to pursue profit above all other values.
It is long past time for another Teddy Roosevelt to bust the trusts or any business that is Too Big to Fail.
The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and its’ Euro cousin (T-TIP) are more massive strides down the path to outright control of the entire world by a handful of billionaires by way of the multinational corporations that they control.
This assault on the Constitution and laws of the USA is clearly an action of domestic and foreign enemies of our country and MUST be stopped. Any member of Congress who votes for this has violated their oath of office, which requires them to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies.
